Gordon Judge lives in Horsham, on the edge of the Hastings Beds of the Sussex Weald, where they rise out of the Weald Clay.
His childhood relationship with his Meccano set drove him, by way of a degree in mechanical engineering, into jobs where he was able to play with cars, artificial legs and medical equipment and get paid for it.
His interest in, and any knowledge of, geology and fossils is largely due to his wife’s determination to get a degree from the Open University, and the stirling efforts of the Horsham Geological Field Club, to drag him out on field trips and procure
knowledgeable speakers for their meetings.
His tendency to verse was unwittingly – and unexpectedly – sparked by a field trip to Peacehaven beach with the King of Chalk, Professor Rory Mortimore, of Brighton University, who is nevertheless not to blame for any of the content of this site.
