Hug a tree

One of four short poems* written to hang on one of a number of small artificial trees intended to decorate a local church at Christmas 2010.

Stop awhile amid your bustling:
Listen to my branches rustling,
Hear those birdies sing with glee,
Then hug me tight, for I’m a tree.

*The others are Oak and willow, Poet-tree and The Music Tree.
