One of four short poems* written to hang on one of a number of small artificial trees intended to decorate a local church at Christmas 2010. This tree would represent the church’s organists.
The roots of rock and symphony,
Are pitch and tone and measure.
Composers channel them, like trunks,
To branch out for our pleasure.
